Designed as a drop-in replacement for an induction motor, there are three easy ways to install the energy-saving imPower pool pump motor.
- Install the imPower motor directly to your existing single-speed timer. The motor operates on high speed for 2 hours and low speed for the remaining hours set on the timer. The homeowner can change the speed via the buttons on the top of the motor control panel to any of the three speeds. No difficult programming to learn. Easy!
- Install the imPower pool pump motor to a two speed timer. The imPower motor can allow for any of the three speeds to be operated by the two speed timer by allowing the second speed to be changed between the medium and low speeds which can be accomplished in 10 seconds.
- Finally, install the imPower pool motor to a third party automation controller. The automation controller can select any of the three speeds via a low voltage DC signal for the ultimate flexibility. All programming is done on the automation controller.
With any of the three optional installations, there is no additional time needed for installation versus a standard single speed induction motor.

The lower speeds with the imPower motor enable the pump to filter at lower speeds, resulting in energy savings for the homeowner. The imPower motor is inherently more efficient than traditional induction motors, thanks to its innovative brushless permanent-magnet design.
